Ceremony

Before graduation, I made a wish for a heavy rain. There was a "one last time" in the wish. One month before that, my grandfather passed away. On the day before the burial, that was the "one last time" to see his face. Is there some ritualistic meaning hidden between "wish" and "the last"?
